Tucked away in a corner of the English countryside is the Low House. This is a beautiful venue for a wedding, although it is not a hotel. The weddings that I have photographed there generally involve a marquee reception on the lawn, which has ample room to house a very large marquee, tent, tepee or yurt.
Wedding photographers love the Low House for its character and charm, but also for its grounds, which span for miles and just seem to open up into the countryside. There is a walled garden at the back of the house that is amazing for wedding photographs and also some beautiful iron fencing, typical of country houses in Cumbria which looks great in wedding photographs.
A few of the locations there need sensible shoes to access them, so it is a good idea to bring an alternative to Jimmy Choos when attending a wedding here. It is also to get married outside, which opens up a wealth of photographic opportunity during your ceremony as I can take photographs from a greater distance, meaning more volume of images due to less volume of camera.
