Sella Park, a really nice venue on the west coast, with great exteriors and great interiors there is loads of potential for wedding photographers in Western Cumbria. Small ceremonies take place in the lounge at the front of the building as you enter the front door, a deceptively large room. The function room is really big, with a massive dance floor where I first met the awesomely vintage Cindy Hoten who sings songs by the likes of Peggy Lee and Patsy Cline.
For photographers there is a huge gamut for imagery. Outside there is a track down to the river which is accessible in good weather, there are some really lovely paths in between the trees which can also be a great location as cover from the rain. Another great place for photographs on rainy days is the conservatory at the back of Sella Park. It is a great location in the hotel for group photographs and also reportage images of guests at the wedding.
In the summer months there is a beautiful marquee which can hold a stack of people and has an interior that photographs well in all conditions. The quality of the light in the marquee really is beautiful.
