Leeming is a wedding venue that is expansive in size inside and out and sports an awesome walkway conservatory which leads to a New Orleans style eastern wing housing most of the bedrooms. Not New Orleans on the inside but the outside is nothing short of Awesome with a beautiful façade facing huge banks of trees which fun down to the lake. The grounds also sport a beautiful fountain and original water feature which I have yet to use in some more creative images, but full group images of everyone at the wedding work brilliantly gathered around it and photographed from the top of the steps. You can also take in the views towards Ullswater from this angle.
On rainy days the trees can be used for sheltering from the rain but there is a beautiful ornate staircase and several lounges that can also be used for group and more creative images. Wedding photographers can often be put off by rain, but like it’s neighbors in Glenridding, Leeming really is an all rounder.
Cumbria has stacks of great venues but Leeming stands tall for me. There is something about the pillars at the main entrance and the symmetry that you see everywhere.Sneaky little porthole windows on doors and beautiful ornate ceilings. The devil really is in the detail when photographing here, from the staircase to the furniture and to the canopy at the back. A really great place to photograph a wedding in the Lake District.
