The North Lakes is a real dark horse amongst the Cumbrian wedding venues. Set right at the gateway to the Lake District, there is a possibility to head down to Pooley Bridge from there for some scenic images later on in the flow of a wedding day. The hotel grounds are really great for wedding photography too. There is an extensive garden at the back which is great for group images and even better at night with off camera flash.
In wet weather the North Lakes Hotel can really prove how flexible it can be with a ton of rooms, lounges and suites that can be used for anything from intimate portraits to full groups of wedding guests. It is a special one at Christmas for me and I love the décor that they put out. I had one there in December the past two years and this year is no exception. I am like the Christmas wedding Photographer!
I also attend the wedding fair at the North Lakes which is one of the best in Cumbria and pulls people in from all over due to its excellent location. Every time I finish photographing a wedding at the North Lakes Hotel I am looking forward to the next one. It is a perfect example of what a great venue mixed with great co-ordinators can achieve.
