I Loooooveee the Swan, the space inside is incredible. The décor is incredible. Photographing there is awesome. All positives really. Any negative points?…. That’s a no then. Being a wedding photographer in the Lake District is made all worthwhile on a rainy day at the Swan, when you can look out of the window at the driving rain, knowing that you have one of the most amazing interiors to work with.

The Swan is on the southern shore of Windermere, which means that it not only has a mass of outside space and a Parisian style terrace at the front, but a marina too. Awesome for pictures on the outside and inside, The Swan is a real treasure for photographers.

There are locations in the Swan that offer a wealth of photographic opportunities. At the last wedding I had the groom stood behind the reception desk so I could get a photograph of him with the animal skulls behind. I have taken images there with just wallpaper in the background and search out corners that often have harsh lighting to create dramatic images.

Without doubt, the Swan is in my top five venues that I have ever shot at. Although I wouldn’t pray for rain on someone’s big day, it is by no means a hindrance when photographing a wedding at the Swan. Great location for a wedding.
